After being one of the most popular brands in disc golf, Innova continues to impress with their consistency and unique disc design. Trust me, you can’t play on any course without running into a player bagging and throwing one of their top sellers.

With every new year comes new Innova discs; which can become slightly overwhelming with the increase in options!

I decided to use my experience playing as well as professional and casual player reviews to put together this list of the best Innova discs.

Featured Top 3

Here are my top three suggestions based on testing over various rounds as well as ratings and reviews online.

  1. Innova Destroyer
  2. Innova Wraith
  3. Innova Firebird

Distance Drivers

When you’re on the tee and can barely see the basket because it’s so far away, these distance drivers are what you’ll need to reach for.

Innova Destroyer

Innova Disc Golf Champion Material Destroyer Golf Disc, 173-175gm (Colors may vary)

The Destroyer is a high-speed, stable driver that’s designed for long-distance throws, and is one of the best-selling discs ever. It was one of the first distance drivers that I added to my bag, and it honestly helped me improve my game so much learning to throw it.

It has similarities to the Wraith from Innova but with more stability at both high and low speeds. It is perfect for those who throw sidearm and have a lot of power, as it can handle headwinds and throws on sharper angles.

It’s not the easiest driver from Innova for beginners to throw, but it’s achievable with good form and just a bit of practice.

Innova Wraith

Innova - Champion Discs Star Wraith Golf Disc, 173-175gm

The Wraith is a distance driver that is known for its stability, speed, glide, and accuracy. It’s versatile enough to provide great distance for players of all skill levels.

This driver excels when thrown downwind, but also performs well when thrown into the wind, making it predictable and reliable. When I first started throwing the Wraith I really didn’t like it, but I soon realized I just wasn’t generating enough power for it to be effective. So fair warning, I wouldn’t recommend this disc unless you have decent arm speed to get it really moving down the fairway.

How to Choose the Best Innova Discs – Buyer’s Guide

1. Decide Which Type Of Disc

Before you can start shopping around, you’ll need to know which type of disc you’re in the market for.

Are you trying to throw for more distance, improve your approach shots, or not miss as many putts throughout the day?

Whatever your need is, understanding what type of disc you need will be key to finding the perfect Innova disc to add to your bag.

2. Choose Your Stability

Thankfully stability remains pretty consistent among all of the disc golf manufacturers. Most Innova discs are referred to as either overstable, stable, or understable.

Of course there will be small differences between these categories and how they actually fly, but it gives you a good starting point when comparing discs.

3. Plastic Options

Innova offers many different plastic options, all with a different feel and stability. These can range from the cheapest and least durable, DX, to the more expensive and durable plastic, Champion.

If you’ve thrown Innova in the past, you’ll have some experience with the plastic choices and how they perform in terms of comfort, durability, and stability.
