BEST PICK

Dynamic Discs Paratrooper

A long-lasting bag made for players of all levels! Comes with space to store over 18 discs as well as three extra compartments.

When I first began playing disc golf I had a friend who gave me a couple of discs to get started. Since I only had a few things to carry, I didn’t worry about getting a disc golf bag until a couple of months in.

After you’ve played for a bit and collected more than a handful of discs, it’s time to upgrade to a newer and better bag. Besides just carrying the discs you throw, a disc golf bag will let you carry other gear like a towel, mini marker, water bottle, and much more!

With a disc golf bag you’ll be able to:

  • Bring more discs to the course
  • Have additional gear like a scorecard, towel, or chalk
  • Keep track of your discs and accessories

If you haven’t already, I highly recommend getting a bag and taking full advantage of all the benefits you’ll get. For this list, I choose the best bags by looking at three important factors of disc capacity, bag durability, and extra storage space.

Quick Answer: The best disc golf bags are:

1. Dynamic Discs Paratrooper

The Paratrooper by Dynamic Discs is my current bag of choice and has been for the past year. After a full year of carrying this around it still fits and looks like it did when I first bought it.

For disc capacity, this bag will comfortably fit 18 discs of all molds and could carry a couple more in the additional pockets. It also comes with two water bottle holders, so there’s plenty of storage for all the other accessories you might need.

Like I mentioned before, this is a durable and sturdy bag that will last if taken care of correctly. With the featured bottom rail, extra padding, and strong material, it’ll feel like a gift that you won’t find yourself having to upgrade bags for a while.

Pros

  • Holds 18 discs with room for more in the top compartment
  • Bottom rail to increase stability
  • Extra storage space on both sides
  • Two water bottle holders
  • Choose from multiple color options

Cons

  • Some assembly required
  • Holds fewer discs than larger bags

Final Verdict:

This is the best overall bag that I’ve used that doesn’t also break my budget. I found that it easily fits everything that I need out on the course, and it’s comfortable to carry around for hours.

2. Dynamic Discs Combat Ranger

The Combat Ranger is a bag that’s much larger than most that you’ll see on the course. When it comes to storage for discs, clothes, and other gear, you can’t do better than this Dynamic Discs bag.

Unless you plan on getting a disc golf cart, there aren’t many other options that come with this much storage space. Fitting 20 discs comfortably in the main compartment, it leaves 4 other sections made to hold any other gear.

There are little feet on the bottom to help increase the stability and ensure the bag stays upright when placed on the ground of most courses. It also comes with plenty of color options so it’s easy to match with your disc color scheme.

The only downside of this bag is that the shoulder straps don’t come with that much padding. If you have the bag stuffed full of discs combined with a full water bottle, it won’t be that comfortable on your back.

Pros

  • The main compartment holds up to 20 discs
  • Extra storage for more gear on top and sides
  • Balanced to stand upright on rough terrain
  • Constructed with 600D Poly and 400D Dobby Nylon Oxford Fabric

Cons

  • Straps aren’t that comfortable with a full bag
  • More expensive than most other bags

Final Verdict:

This bag is perfect for those players that like to carry around a lot of discs while playing. It’s made with durable fabrics, will stay dry throughout the summer, and has enough storage to carry all of your essentials and more.

3. Prodigy Disc BP-1 V3

BEST STORAGE

If the main thing you’re looking for in a bag is the raw number of discs that it can carry, let me introduce you to the Prodigy Disc BP-1 V3 bag. With its unique design and wide main section, this disc golf bag never runs out of space.

Most bags don’t support this many discs, but it can easily carry 25 discs in the main section, 4 putters in the top, 2 in the front, and 10 extra discs in the two side pockets. If you ever do fieldwork it’s nice to have this bag and be able to bring all the discs that you normally don’t bring to the course.

For durability, the bag is made with high-quality Nylon Ripstop Fabric that’s waterproof and lightweight. It’s also a material that is scratch resistant and isn’t prone to tearing or ripping in any areas.

Pros

  • Carries over 30 discs in total
  • Easily grab your putters from the front putter pocket
  • Water-resistant nylon material

Cons

  • Assembly required
  • Parts of the bag can be squeaky
  • Limited color options

Final Verdict:

With room for over 30 discs, the BP-1 V3 bag is a one of a kind type of bag. The material of the bag is very lightweight so don’t worry about it weighing you down on the course. It’s comfortable, durable, and will remain brand new throughout all weather conditions.

4. MVP Disc Sports Backpack

BEST BUDGET

In disc golf, MVP is known for making reliable and affordable discs and other equipment. That’s why this is the best budget bag that I’ve ever bought and consistently used for playing.

The storage numbers aren’t as great as others on this list, but it holds a comfortable amount between 18-24 depending on the molds of the discs. It features a top pocket for easy access to putters, two side pockets, and a large drink holder.

Even with a simple design, you can tell this backpack is made to fit every and all disc golfers. It’s lightweight at under 2lbs, has a sturdy bottom section for standing up, and is built to be durable for your everyday use.

Pros

  • Simple design
  • Carries a good amount of discs (18-24)
  • Adjustable straps
  • Has many pockets including one for your putters

Cons

  • Limited padding on the inside of the bag
  • Color options only change the lettering on the front
Final Verdict:

Even though it’s one of the least expensive bags on the market, the MVP Disc Sports Backpack is a high-quality product that has no real cons. This is the perfect bag for newer players or more experienced players that don’t need a huge amount of storage and discs while playing.

5. Innova Adventure Pack Backpack

The Innova Adventure Backpack is a smaller, cheaper, and lightweight bag that is very comfortable and durable. It has a similar design to the majority of bags on the market but is slightly smaller than most.

It comfortably holds 25 discs and is built with four different zippered pockets to hold any accessories. There is also a drink holder and a handle on the top of the bag for easy transport around the house or car.

One downside to this bag is there isn’t much support built on the bottom of the pack. If the main compartment isn’t filled with discs then it most likely won’t stand on its own. With a fill pack, it creates a pretty solid foundation and can be left without tipping over.

Pros

  • Holds up to 25 discs
  • Lightweight at 2lbs
  • Has padded shoulder pads and carrying handle on top

Cons

  • Limited storage space
  • No color options
  • Less durable than the other bags on the list

Final Verdict:

A very affordable bag, the Innova Adventure Pack comes with all of the needed features of a disc golf bag. It doesn’t have the bells and whistles of a $100 bag, but it’s durable, lightweight, and gets the job done. Simple and comfortable to wear, you’ll be happy with this bag for all of your discing needs.

How to Choose the Best Disc Golf Bag – Buyer’s Guide

  • Disc Capacity
  • Durability
  • Additional Storage

The main feature that you want to focus on when deciding which bag is best for you is the amount of disc that it can carry. Alongside that, it’s important to find a disc golf bag that is durable enough to last for a few years, and has room to store whatever disc golf accessories you like to carry around!

Disc Capacity

Since the main thing you need when playing disc golf is discs, it makes sense that we would focus on the capacity for discs in the bag. This is all personal preference since some disc golfers play with fewer discs than others, but it’s always nice to have the option to carry more without buying a new bag.

Durability

Disc golf bags need to be durable enough to be placed on benches and the ground without ripping or having the material tear. It’s also a plus to have material that’s water-resistant so that you don’t have to worry about getting caught out in the rain.

Additional Storage

Along with the discs that you can carry, there is plenty of other gear that’s nice to have when you’re playing. Having room to store towels, minis, water, or other gear is a huge benefit to everyone. Look for a bag with at least two other pockets and one pocket for easy to get discs like your putters.
