1. Axiom Discs Icon Logo Disc Golf Towel
The Axiom disc golf towel is the one that I’ve been using consistently for the last year or so. I love the vibrant color that this towel comes in, even if the only color option is blue. This is also my preferred towel for disc golf because of how absorbent the cotton material is.
This cotton tri-fold towel measures in at 23.25″ x 16.5″, which I’ve found to be the perfect length to match most disc golf bags that are used today. If the towel hangs below the bottom of your bag it can easily be tucked into the bag or cut down a bit to fit.
When playing out on the course you’ll want that towel to be easily accessible but not in the way when you’re moving around. The attached clip that this towel comes with is perfect for easily clipping in on your bag, no matter the brand or type of bag.
2. INNOVA DewFly Microsuede Disc Golf Towel
If you prefer a towel that has multiple color options you should take a look at the Innova DewFly towel. There are six vibrant colors that you can choose from, so it shouldn’t be too hard to find one that matches your bag!
The microsuede material works great for wiping off leaves or grass as it provides a cling-free texture. But, the towel is still great at absorbing any water or sweat on the disc. The size of this towel from Innova is a little smaller than the one from Axiom, measuring out at 17″ x 16.5″.
There is no attachable clip on this towel so you’ll have to have an extra spot in your bag to throw it. Thankfully, this is a thinner towel which means it doesn’t take up much space but also won’t be able to be used as much as others without needing to be washed or dried out. However, it will work perfectly well to keep your discs clean and dry while out playing in any condition.
3. MVP Disc Sports Orbit Logo Disc Golf Towel
Before making the switch over to the Axiom towel, this towel from MVP was my go-to choice. This item is very similar to that towel and even measures the same size. The key difference that I noticed was that this towel material wore down quickly in a much shorter amount of time.
The material for this towel is cotton which is perfect for wet conditions out on the course. Even if there’s some morning dew during your earlier rounds you’ll have no issue keeping your hands and disc dry.
There is an attachable clip that makes it easy to stay clipped and accessible on your bag. There are no color options with this towel beside the black as shown above.
4. Dewfly Disc Golf Towel-One Towel
If you’re looking for a larger towel you should consider this Dewfly towel which is around 17″x17″. I also like the colors the available colors; red, orange, black, light blue, pink, or yellow. They even allow you to contact them if you’re looking for specific color requests.
This towel from Innova has good wicking as well as a good feeling texture that makes this an all in one type of towel. Use it for dirt, grass, water, or anything else that you may encounter while playing. There is also a small loop built into the towel so that it can be hung from somewhere inside of your bag.
5. Dynamic Discs Stacked Logo Disc Golf Towel
Coming in on the smaller side of towels, this one from Dynamic Discs is around 16″ x 24″. Made from 100% cotton means this is the perfect material for keeping your disc dry.
The three color options that this towel comes in are lime green, red, and royal blue. As you can see this towel does have the Dynamic Discs logo designed on the front of the towel, which some people would prefer no design on the towel at all.
How to Choose the Best Disc Golf Towel– Buyer’s Guide
- Towel Size
- Clip or Attachment to Bag
- Material
There aren’t too many things to consider when picking out a towel for disc golf. To find the perfect towel to keep your hands and discs dry, you want something that’s large, can be attached to your bag, and is made from soft materials that will absorb any excess water on the disc.
Towel Size
Discs might not seem like they’re the largest but when you’re trying to wipe one down you’ll be glad to have a larger sized towel. Having a towel that is too small will just lead to water being pushed around the disc and never fully absorbed. Having a disc that is only partly wet kind of feels the same as completely soaked, and you won’t be able to get a good grip either way.
Clip or Attachment to Bag
Most of the time that a towel will be used is for wiping down a putter before attempting your putt. The release of the disc when putting is so key to being consistent, so you don’t want the disc to be anything but dry to get a great grip.
Because of this circumstance of using the towel, one important thing to remember is that you want it easily accessible. Nobody wants to be getting ready for an important putt but then has to stop to find your towel.
If you pick a towel that has a clip or loop and can be attached to your bag, you’ll never have worries about where the towel is and will never have to dig through your bag to find it.
Because a lot of towels do come with a clip, you may run into the towel dragging or resting on the ground when you put your bag down. If this is something that you want to avoid then make sure to get the correct length of towel that matches how tall your bag is.
Towel Material
The main thing when picking the towel material is to avoid a material that leaves and other small findings will stick to. Usually, leaves and grass can be easily brushed off the disc with your hand, so try to pick a towel that only absorbs water.
Cotton is a great choice for towels because the soft material will dry up excess water while not picking up and grass or leaves stuck to the disc.
