It’s time for me to talk about the most underappreciated part of disc golf, midranges. For some reason, I talk to so many disc golfers around the area that just don’t throw midranges that much during a round.
I understand it to a certain point because it took me a little practice to move from throwing mainly fairway drivers to throwing slower-moving discs.
What definitely helped me was finding a midrange disc that was comfortable and consistent, even if I didn’t have the perfect release. Discraft has one of the most popular midranges ever, the Buzzz, and they’ve made a few others that are just as good!

How to Choose the Best Discraft Midranges – Buyer’s Guide
1. Plastic Options
Discraft manufactures its discs in a whole bunch of plastics, with different stability, durability, and cost. I enjoy more overstable midrange discs, so I tend to get the more expensive and durable plastic molds for my midranges. If you’re just looking to try out a new disc, it might be worth choosing the cheaper plastic to test out.
2. Stability
Being that these are midrange discs, they’ll all have pretty similar flight numbers and weights. The biggest difference is the stability of a certain disc. Finding a midrange that matches the stability of your most common throws is key to having a short game that feels easy and complete.
